It's been a decent amount of time since I've done a regular commission - and it might be even longer before I start openly accepting them again. Embarrassingly enough, there are even some ongoing commissions I have yet to update that were ordered more than a month ago. The reason for this inactivity is because - well - I've been kept busy.
Work has kept me away from work. (That combined with Guild Wars 2 and Brave Frontier are a match to keep a person completely taken.) To be clearer, some time ago I found myself accepting job offers one game after another. The main problem here is that there are just too many awesome games that are willing to accept me as one of their artists. It's very, very difficult to say no to a good project.
As much as I'd like to reopen commissions, I wouldn't want to keep commissioners waiting indefinitely for their orders. The commission slots will remain closed until I finish at least 3 projects. Undead Lily
This one here is my first love. I started working on the art for this project back in 2010. After doing all the character sprites and CGs, I didn't think I'd be needed anymore. Almost 3 years later I'm back on the project as their creature artist. If you've noticed all the monsters and almost naked ladies I have been posting these past few months, those are for Undead Lily. I'm incredibly excited for this game and I can't wait to see how the sprites are used. I have no idea what the story is so it's as big of a mystery to me as to everyone else. Now if only I could churn out those creatures faster...Devil Gene R
This is the first time I was hired to do something other that the character sprites. On this project, I'm making pixel chibi versions of the characters for their battle system. I won't be allowed to post all the sprites I'm working on until the game is out but I should be able to post the "idle" poses for each character soon. The project head showed me a sample of the game with my sprites in it - I can't express how happy I was. This is another game I can't wait to see completed.
This is a year of firsts it seems. This project is the first RPG maker and sci-fi themed game I'm drawing for. Though I'm not exactly sure how the sprites are going to be used as of yet (since there are already face pics made for the dialogues), I have to say that I'm pretty happy to be working on this. I don't really have much experience in designing sci-fi outfits - and I haven't played any scifi games or watched any scifi movies to draw inspiration from - but I'm pretty content with how they're coming out. There's a demo out for those who want to try it out! Just hit the title link. Kondikaffee
No development thread out yet for this game but still something close to my heart. This is an otome game being made by some of the sweetest female VN game developers I know. I was lucky enough to be hired as their artist. I've designed and sketched out all the main characters already but I have yet to commit edits and finalize. That's entirely my fault. I really need to plan which project to work on on what day. Time management isn't my friend.???
This one is the latest project I was hired for. The title is still tentative so I won't post it just yet. All I can say about this one is that it's medieval in setting and has some fantasy in it. The fantasy-lover inside of me squeeled at the opportunity to draw knights and mages. Like most of the other projects I work on, I know close to nothing about the story. At least that will keep things exiting when I eventually do play the game. I still need to ask if I'm allowed to post the sprites here or DA or if I should wait for the game to be out before I do.
- And of course there's LatL and other personal projects but the updates on those games have been close to insignificant. If I'm completely honest with myself, I really miss working on personal projects. If any time management masters out there can share a tip or two about how to juggle work and personal projects, I'd love to hear it.
I'll try to post more stuff on here. I haven't been able to post most of the newer stuff but I'll try to rectify that.
